  • **Just sold** “TUBAX” Benedikt Eppelsheim Contrabass-Saxophone

    TUBAX – Contrabass-Saxophone

This is truly an extraordinary visitor in our stable, a TUBAX from the Munich saxophone workshop Benedikt Eppelsheim. Eppelsheim has also built a contrabass saxophone in a “standard version” (if you want to put it that way…), which is almost 3 meters tall and accordingly not easily transportable.

Quite different is the TUBAX: due to its compact design, it is barely longer than a low A baritone saxophone, can be played comfortably while seated, as it has an adjustable spike, and thanks to its weight of just under 10kg and a appropriate carrying system, it is also suitable for stage use.

It is played with a baritone mouthpiece, and due to its narrower scale compared to the conventional contrabass saxophone, it requires significantly less air to play it. The mechanics operate smoothly, and the TUBAX is relatively comfortable to play even for the untrained “low-range player”!

The TUBAX offered here was ordered in 2001 by a very ambitious hobby saxophonist from Benedikt Eppelsheim and has been in the family’s possession since then. The original owner had or has a considerable number of saxophones of all sizes (sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, and contrabass!), all of which we are selling or have already sold for the family after his death.

The TUBAX is in very good condition and is sold with a case.
